Mate, so far i have only cut a few small branches with it, but so far so good. It is certainly a big blade, and I feel this could really handle some serious work. I am pretty happy with this knife and think I am gonna keep it on as a user/collector.

Every one likes the chopper bowies but I prefer a thinner fighter style bowie with the sharp back edge spanish notch and one of those bottlecap opener things on top. I prefer a small axe for clearing branches and the original bowies were sidearms for a time when handguns were very unreilable and often only had one shot. Here in canada you can't take a gun anywhere but to and from a range or hunting but you can carry any size of fixed blade so long as you don't have criminal intent. A scrapper fighting bowie would be awesome with a 8 and a half inch or even 10 inch bladeof S7 and a resiprene handle. Most people discount knives as weapons in favour of handguns but at the range of most handgun combat a knife is no disadvantage(most civilian gunfights take place within 20 feet and a healthy man can move 14 feet a second). I would also like to see the yard take on a more different flavour from the usual Busse and rat offerings. Not that there is anything wrong with them, quite the contrary but I would like to see more of Dan's personality in the next few knives.

I think fighter style knives have their place....like the movies...I mean who really gets in knife fights?! Also most knife fights I have seen or heard of take place with box cutters/razor blades or folder pocket knives. I like practical blades, and I HATE the catch....last thing I want to do is catch a knife that close to my hand.

GF I agree, knife fights or knife attacks are invariably Stanley knife or kitchen knife affairs, most of the time only the military spends real money on a fighter.. (And those are for sentries not meelee combat..)
