I must say that I'm VERY impressed with this blade. This seems like an all-purpose machine. It can open beer bottles, slice, open beer bottles, chop, open beer bottles, baton, open beer bottles......well I think you get the point.
I'm kicking myself for not getting the guard as well. stupid.

Thanks Dan! Did you get one of these? This knife feels like it can do everything well. I'm trying to get a sheath for my DF with a detachable sheath for the Mutt as I think they are a good tandem, but this particular knife feels like it's a "jack-of-all-trades" kind of deal.
I definitely love it.

I'm kicking myself for not getting the guard as well. stupid. Congrats, Arkie. Have you actually tried it on a beer bottle? Dan said it would not work on Michelob Ultra. That is why I got the Guard, instead, plus the fact that it fits sheaths easier. The Hook does look cool, though. I just got my shipping notice today, so I'll have my Guard soon! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I haven't tried on a bottle yet, but there hasn't been one that I can't get into so far, and that's without the hook. I daresay you'll love the guard. It just feels right. I was a little skeptical of the res-c grips at first, but I love them now. They are much tougher than I ever expected they could be.

I definitely love it. No, I just went witht he S6. I already have one but this one went to my dad. It does look like a good, stout knife and I hope it serves you well. Post pics when you take it out for a spin.

Good deal Arkie!
Glad to see you have another great new toy. Would love to see the pics. I like recurves so the guard and hook were both right up my alley. I haven't decided which I like better yet. Have fun with your growing pack of blades!
