After I did a previous post Gravelface commented on how big the tree was in my pic. That tree was small compared to the ones I passed today so I thought I'd share this pic of one of them with my NRA Snody perched on it for a size guide !!! ![[Linked Image from i129.photobucket.com]](http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p236/denaleeguy/Francisking005.jpg)

I hope we'll never see the end of trees like that old friend there.. Thanks for letting us see it.

Very cool. I love big trees. Check out this big one. It’s an African Baobab tree. It’d be cool to hollow out one of those trees and live in it. ![[Linked Image from i6.photobucket.com]](http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y209/andywayne/Misc/988_boom.jpg)

Awesome pics. I climbed General SHerman about 10 years ago with a fellow arborist friend, 365ft. And the drank a six pack at the top! It took 3 1/2 hrs to climb with only ropes and gear no spikes. Good times! (before I lost my leg)

Pit - awesome tree - I wish there were more like them still around. I guess the whole country was full of trees like that before we came here and chopped them all down. Too bad really, but at least there's still some left!!
And... Andy's picture is clearly the world's smallest man, next to your average sized tree. But seriously, you could carve out one heck of a house in that thing! I saw a redwood that someone had carved out and lived in. Pretty cool idea, other than the fact that I'm sure it would kill the tree. Now... if it was a giant dead tree, thats a whole different issue - carve on!

When you see these there usually is or was a village nearby as they collect water in the hollowed center. The people would actually get water from it. Sometimes you can actually find an archaeological site by finding one of these. DMelone mentioning seeing them when he was in Africa. I have seen many of these trees, not this big tho!

Awesome tree pics. We don't have many big trees out here in the desert, but I do have a 20 foot cactus out my patio window.
