I am proud of him. There is a book called "Force Recon Diary 1970" that has some pictures in it...of which I have the originals. I'm not sure how that all worked out, but its neat.
My dad always said he wanted to be a Helo pilot, but his hearing was horrible after the war.

Yeah, it's rediculous. I understand wanting a little profit, but that's just crazy. +1,000,000 I can see make $40 or $50, but doubling the price is insane. As long as people pay it - people will charge it.

Ironically my hearing problems are the government's fault. After my father left the Marines, he tried to re-up but couldn't because of his hearing. He ended up enlisting in the Army. They sent us to Germany where the mil docs botched a surgery. Since 7 years old my hearing has been diminishing. I have 70% loss in my left now. 26 years of shooting military rifles hasn't helped <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

My wife is very understanding. Her family is good about it too. I can't really carry on a conversation in a restaurant (etc) unless I'm directly facing the person (watch lips).
