Yeah, it can be hard to compare though as pay scales differ as well. I read that McDonalds was looking for employees and the pay starts at $10.50 an hour up here.

I hear you. One year when I was going on Leave from Japan to Hawaii I was gonna grab a bite in Narita airport in Tokyo. Cheapest thing I could find was a Hamburger (came with fries) for $20.00 U.S. Dollars! And this was back in 1987!

The burger, yeah I did. The bus from the Base to the airport ran twice a day. I had to take the 10am bus for a 6pm flight out of Japan.

Yeah it wasn't all that bad. Was about the size of a Whopper w/out all the add ons. Just had tomato, lettuce and onion.
