Absolutely rediculous. The guides should be in jail.

LAME!!! Why not just leave them with nothing then? Who needs enemies with friends like that.

Yeah, thats ridiculous. Dehydration has nothing to do with training. They should always have water on their person, IMO. I'd really like to go to a school like that (I've thought about Randall's Adventure Training - but that might be a little spendy for me at this point) - but not one that refuses you water.

I see so many people out here in AZ get in over their heads without enough water when we go out on Jeep runs out in the deep desert. I have seen muscle bound guys in excellent shape collapse from the heat. Extreme temps are definitley not something to screw around with.

Wow, what a horrible waste. I hope they don’t stay in business for long. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbdn.gif" alt="" />

That freaking disgusts me!!!!!!!! Only a truly sick soul would allow a man to die under those circumstances. I can understand wanting to push your own limits and such but JC it was a training course not a real situation.....You train, maybe fail. But you are supposed to be able to learn from training. I hope this effectively kills the BOSS school. In my mind this is beyond negligence and is closer to sadism. Even my Drill Seargant let us drink and watched us for folks who didn't ask for water and we were training for war!

I can't believe it either. There is no reason to stress yourself like that. If you are in that state of misery, your ability to absorb teachings goes way down. It was criminal and they should be punished.

I read the article again and the "expert" guides were negligent based on that article. I have been involved in hundreds of hours of various types of training courses in 110+ degree temps and any instructor that would not allow someone to carry water as an emergency backup in an extreme environment and an extreme situation to prove a point is not worthy of teaching anything.
