You might be able to find it at a hardware store, but I bought mine from a place on eBay. It's a good item to keep in an emergency kit.

Sounds like something I need to put in my kit!

I was thinking the same thing Todd. I think I'll pass on the antifreeze though.

Think I'll just stick to PJ cottonballs and fatwood.

Dad swears by peanut butter! He said you can just smear some on the wood and it'll burn enough to catch just about any kind of dry wood

When I'm camping, I usually take a couple cans of Sterno just in case. Light one under the pile of tender, and you have a good fire pretty quick, even if it's damp.

I like to have a few different choices available to me, beginning with a Bic lighter.

A Bic lighter works quicker than a firesteel!

I've got a couple so I can flick my Bic as well.

I usually just use a firesteel. But I carry a bic and a road flare in my hunting pack.

I carry the longneck fireplace Bic lighters, they're a lot easier on the fingers. I need to work on my firestarting, not very good at it without some assistance.

On the same note, I hear about fatwood, where do you find it? I've seen it on here but can't quite figure out what it is.
