Those bow hunters are usually using tree stands so they are up above the scent line and also safe from an angry boar's fury. I still think that hunting them with a boar spear would be really sporting. The 44 magnum in a revolver or carbine with 300 gr jacketed soft points is sporting, too if you are down on the ground with them. It will get your heart rate up there for a while!

I saw some show about Hogzilla where these guys tried to say that it Hogzilla was not 900 lbs or something like that but then they found the carcus etc... I dont' really remember what the heck happened but any hog that is even near 900 pounds is a beast. It was national geographic. http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/photogallery/explorer_hogzilla/

I can shoot a bow really well...... However I can't hit crap so I would be screwed.
I'd have to go with the rifle/handgun route... Unless you do pigstickin.

That's quite the pig....
I've never hunted pigs but I think I would like to try it with a spear first and then..............perhaps the DF.

Howdy all, I realize that Texas has the largest # of wild hogs in the CONUS .... I came upon this cool website: http://www.texasboars.com/articles/facts.htmlwith some cool pics.... ![[Linked Image from img201.imageshack.us]](http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/7674/normal2hog9dn8.jpg) Any of you's use your Dogfather on a Hog yet? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Patti and I saw one this size or a little bigger dead on the side of the road just outside of Houston. A car had hit it. At first we thought it was a refrigerator that had fallen off a junk truck. I would hate to come across one of these with out my 500 S&W by my side Dan

No hogs here in BC, however we have their cousin the black and grizzly bears. Always wanted to hunt hogs though
