Elk, yeah. Is it hard to get deer permits?

It is in the area I hunt. Someone got a record muley in 07 and it has been swamped with trophy hunters since. I have drawn a license for deer every year until 08. They have killed off all the good stock. The Elk are healthy but the Muleys are thinned out to nothing.

All the [censored] trophy hunters made my Elk hunting hard until the past season. They were stomping over everything. I went from seeing one or two hunters a week to having 2 or 3 trying to walk over you. And it brought lots of slob hunters. If it hadn't backed off a bit last year I would be looking for another area.

Hate to hear that. Over hunting is a bad thing, just as bad as over breeding.

New season of Swamp People is on. Thus far pretty good. I think if I was out hunting a gator with a .22 lr I would make sure it had iron sights. One hunters rifle doesn't have sights and they had a hell of a time.

I have hunted this area for years. I scout year round and work for my opportunity. I have never had an occasion to call another bow hunter a slob hunter until the past few seasons. I have never seen a worse group of road hunting, stand stealing ignorant bunch. The only thing that was miossing was shooting at sounds.

A lot the reasons I went to bow hunting over rifle hunting. I have alwys enjoyed the solitude and physical challenge of hpoofing it out to where i hunt and then either ambush or stalking my quarry.

The year before last I had one guy set up 75 yards away and another 30 yards away calling to each other. I finally started laughing out loud and told them what they were doing. They sheepishly walked off. but another pair were walking across my trails killing my chances.

I didn't see an animal that year. A week prior they were walking all over me literally.

I have much better hopes for this year though. The hype seems to have died off with the muleys.

Thats an impressive amount the one guy brought in 51 in a day. Thats some work.
