Sharpmaker is great for touching up, not so good for when they get really dull.

We've thought about going straight cell phone but then with the calls patty gets, some of the calls go 2 hours we'll probably just stick with the land line. Anyway our cell phone is my stepsons actually. He just gave it to us when he and his old girlfriend broke up. AND he said he just wanted a way to check up on mom whenever he wanted. PLUS he pays the bill! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> We've probably had the phone at least 5 or 6 years.

I have been giving the thought to getting the paper wheels but a very good Dog here told me of some experiences. I think I will hold out and try a little belt sander sometime in the future. Then again, on a V edge I like my blades with some but, so a DMT red diamond is rarely needed.

We have a house phone and it's mainly for the internet. My son has the only working phone in the house in his room. Everything of mine and my wife's is on our cell phones.

Richard puts up a very convincing arguement for the wheels, but there ARE other methods that produce a satisfactory edge.

Cell is nice. We have unlimited minutes and text, and internet access on my netbook and phone. If my company ever sells out that may change but I have been lucky to be grandfathered in several times during the different mergers and buyouts.

I wouldn't mind trying a set of paper wheels, but I'm not gonna buy a grinder and set of wheels just to experiement. IF I could try out someone else's I'd love to and maybe make up my mind that way.

If Patty didn't get such long calls from her friends sometimes we probably would go all cell. But I just hate the idea of having to pay for calls like that. Most of the LONG calls they are the ones calling her.

We have unlimited text and data, plus enough minutes that we've never ran over. And I do talk on the phone a lot, thanks to my side job.

You need to talk to PoP about his experiences with the wheels. I just don't like the idea of the learning curve. I see a lot of guys at gunshows using the method and pretty good at it, but I am not sure.

In fact there is a guy from up Branson, MO way that makes his way down and he has a contraption that gives great edges but the price is about 500 bills when all purchased. For a few bucks a knife I will let him do it LOL.

Ah, just get one of those carbid scrapers/sharpeners and go for it!
