Ah we're still here. Sleepy as all get out, haven't slept well all week and Patty is deathly afraid of storms. Woke me up and we headed over to the church to get the truck under the awning and have a little bit better protection.

Loosing the FAL was the right choice there Randy. Of you really think about it what did you have it for. exactly the reason you let it go. it's doing a better job of protecting you and yours than its features and function have ever done. really better outcome than having to use it for what made for I think. right tool but choose your battles type thing i guess...

Have any of you guys seen the new Ruger Scout rifle? I held one today and it seemed pretty well put together. That and the new 1911 they are supposed to release in May, seems to be some good things coming out of Ruger.

I've seen pics of the Scout but that's all. I really want a pistol grip shotty. I miss my little short Mossy but it would have gotten me in trouble If I had ever used it. It was a good thing to get rid of the barrel. Actually All I got to do is get another 20ga barrel for it and this time chop it off CORRECTLY!

scout rifle looked good but at the time my m1a voided it off the list.

if I go 1911 I want the Coonan .357. but it is interesting to see all these new 1911's.

I kinda don't want to get into a rant about why I think the 1911's have been so popular though...

The Ruger Scout has a 16" threaded brl, flash hider, forward scope mount, iron sights that can be removed if regular scope is wanted, laminated stock, detachable mag, nice recoil pad, and a nice feeling trigger. BTW, it is a bolt action.
