I remember along time ago when I didnt have a car payment, it was one of the best feelings in the world. It lasted a whole month when the truck literally fell apart.

mine's been paid for darn near a year... my best friend is a master mechanic, with every ASE certification there is... I get reasonable wrenching... if my motor blows apart, i think i will r & r with a crate motor... way cheaper than a new sled

I'm a pretty fair mechanic myself, used to work on race cars back in another lifetime. On older vehicles, I'm perfectly fine wrenching on them myself. I've rebuilt engines and trannies in the garage, got the tools to do it again if need be. And if I can't figure it out, there's the internet to help me along.

I won't have one, if I can help it. My trucks are both paid for. I could trade my F150 for something a little a little more efficient and still not have a payment.

nahh... i'd rather keep my truck... i'll eat the gas cost... gotta go camping.. and i haul one of the Scout trailers...

That's why I like older vehicles. I also have a 94 Ranger, but I've been having electronic troubles with it or I'd be driving it more. It gets better mileage, but it'll die as you're driving, and usually at the worst possible time.

I've got it nailed down to a faulty relay, but got to figure out which one. I may just replace them all.
