Here is that old Hammer Brand knife my buddy gave me. He also gave me this Schrade Forest Ranger edition knife or something from 91 its cherry in the box still. His grandma has rental spaces or something and the guy failed to pay so she just gave the stuff to him. He knows I love knives let me pick through some of it. There were also these old folders with like Popeye and Zorro on them. Grabbed a few of those as well.

I also remember going to this auction one time. Guy had died and there was a few knives there. One little boot dagger. Then kind you can get at the flea market for like 3 dollars. I was young. My dad said I could bid on it. I just remember my heart pounding and me being jittery over the excitement of trying to get that knife. Seems like I nodded my head 100 times a minute. Anyway it only got up to 10 dollars but I got the knife!

awesome... i'll bet you can still recall that thrill
Yah I sure can! By the way I forced the patina on the HB knife. Its not a natural patina lol.

I do knife training for some of the local cub scout packs for their Whittlin' Chip ... that is always a hoot and generates its own stories... from the kids, to the parents...

I was in the scouts and then the explorers, I was thinking about doing some volunteer work with the scouts here. My cousin went all the way with the organization and told me great stories of a place called philmount. A lot of sites used to be avail with great outdoor info.regarding it. I still would like to go there once.

Philmont Scout Ranch... didn't get to go as a kid, but I have been twice as an adult for training.... in Cimarron, New Mexico... great place

That's great. Now you give your child a knife or try and teach the skills your looked at goofy by most. It's a real shame. I grew up in a large city and clearly remember shooting my bb rifle in the bsck yard. No problems, no cops calked. Just boys being boys.

Knife is a bad word now, you should see the looks I get when I carry a good sized knife around town. I'd hate for them to see my CCW pistol! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

You know I would get more bad stares over a knife than my CCW...knives evoke thoughts of evil things in the minds of sheeple

Nice those little ones with the characters could be worth something.

Yah the ones with characters were on Ebay 5 for like 100 bucks? I doubt anyone paid that though. I gave one to my 8 year old brother as they arn't sharp and he seems to be taking a liking to knives.
