I tossed some french apple chicken sausages on the fire.
some garlic potatoes still cooking though.

In my last post.. i asked what knife i should get for my birthday... I saw a lot of Loveless suggestions....

my fault... I could never afford a loveless these days... let me back up and state... i was a new knife... I am thinking a Busse big blade... now i am going to give up a new gun for this..but not real big bux.. prolly 5-6 bills thereabouts...

what say ye...

A lot of folks have good success with the mousepad/sandpaper method for convex edges and also strops.
I havent searched the mousepaper method, but I did pickup a piece of scrap leather for a strop when I was at the leather shop gettin sheath hardware. Never used a strop either. Just stones on boyscout knives lol.

There's a free video series on how to sharpen convex blades.
Hi dt have you had luck doing the convex sharpening?

Maintaining? Yes. Putting one on? Haven't tried. I've got a Gerber s30v freeman hunter with a piss-poor grind that I bought dull (really cheap for one of my boys) that I intend to do up in that manner before too long.
