I think "Going Rogue" is one of my favorites.

I like Louis L'Amour. Especially the first Sackett books. I believe the first one was "The Far Blue Mountains" abt Barnabas Sackett who was one of the first Europeans to come to America. Kind of a story like Jeremiah Johnson but in the Southeast.
