Those guys in Solingen are very proud of their blades. But, I had to have a some of their work and this one is a purchase I feel good about since it is useful. besides my pocket knife, it will probably get used the most out of all my knives.

I do plan to modernize this thing though. When I get settled in in SLC, I plan to make a carbon fiber handle for it.

I couldn't find a leather case that held everything. Custom is the way to go. I played with the idea of an ebony handle too.

You could do something similar to the Busse G-rex handles which are G-10/bone, half CF, half bone/ivory, or CF with bone/ivory inlays.

My Great Granddads is a black plastic or what ever they used for plastic back in the 1800's. Mine (the one that disappeared) was a marbled tan (dark and light) with white marbling through it I bought in the Philippines back in 1976.

I can handle making them out of one material fine, but inlays are for some one else to do, which won't happen. If I can do it, I do it. Skunk, this one is black plastic. The bone ones were 50 euros more.

It looked like black plastic to me. I THINK they called that stuff Bakelite or something like that.

Alright, it was just a suggestion. I think that CF by itself will look pretty good.
