last thing you want is a kid to have a wet night or other bad experience in a tent.
Get them to love it first, then when something goes wrong, it won't be such a big deal for them

T1, do you get to see the "Northern lights" very much where you are at?

this particular net book was originally made for the japanese market, and believe it or not some of the keys are marked with the wrong english symbol and some like the colon are missing altogether.
It also has a funny shift key on it which makes it difficult to use, unless the computer is sitting on a table.
I will use my normal computer when sitting at a desk.
on this chat i am usually sitting relaxed on a couch.
my other net book has a normal keyboard but the battery doesn't last that long so it is pretty much tied to a wall

on some tents like canvas the heat helps to prevent the threads from stretching when the tent gets wet.
Sort of like shrinking clothes by washing them in hot water vs cold water

Yote you´re right about that. You should get the sparkle in to the kid. As I was told when we went shootin with a rimfire first times. Adults always stopped the session before we got enough - just to leave the sparkle inside.

Skunk we don´t see the northen lights too often. Now the last two winter have been colder than for a long time. I remember two night last winter I saw the lights. They are much more common in Lappland - the home of the leuku. I live in the south-west part of Finland.

About the tents: heating the tents made them hold the rain. If the tents weren´t heated they got wet and started leaking. The tents weren´t made of waterproof fabric.
