I am a creature of habit. I bought this stone when I was a teenager and have hand sharpened with it ever since. I am familair with it and the muscle memory makes it easy. But this M-9 has me baffled. It may be just plain to big for this type of stone to work on. Its only touching the edges from what I can see.

Is the blade of the knife straight, other than that, the stone sounds like it's curved, but if it worked for your other knives,

I want to believe the stone is dished after all of these years but I think the blade is slightly recurved. I will have to find my square and see.

Well I'll be dipped. I grabbed my metal straight edge from the shop and the blade is slightly recurved on the M-9. That makes me feel better. I thought I lost my mojo.

I have no idea if they are differentially treated. I would guess they are because of the size.

Whats going on tonight guys? Just got in from running around with my brother getting stuff on his truck ready fro a road trip he has coming up. Had a good day at the range too--well until about 12:15 and then the sun hit us and it was all over LOL.
