I thought that your "Winter" would start earlier and last longer into the year

So I see Your country's Independence day is December 6th. Is the year 1948? I couldn't find where it said an actual year, just cited 3 or 4 different years for major happenings.

6.12.1917

The civil war was 1918.

The Winter war 1939-40.

War continued 1941-1944.

War of Lappland 1944-1945.

Ok, I didn't realize that the 1917 figure was the Birth date of your country. I figured it had to be before 1948 but that was of course a guess on my part. I once again proved that Geography was not my strong suit in school or now. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/paperbag.gif" alt="" />

Now I'm confused again, across the water to Sweden? Is there a river separating the two countries? or is like a large long bay that is joined at the northern end by Lappland? I'll have to look at a map again.
