Never was much on canoes and have never been in/on a kayak. But a friend of mine has one and he's as big as I am, but he loves his.
His is a sit-on kayak, and he uses it to fish out of on a fairly slow river.
I have kayaked but not on a sit-on type.
Another option for fishing that is quite popular up here are belly boats (I don't care for them) and this style pontoon boat http://www.cabelas.com/product/Classic-A...ch-All+Products

In North Carolina, mandantory for operators under 26 only and more than 10 hp.
I think our cut-off is 9.9hp or more and 3m or more in length.
I can't remember, I got my card back in 1999, when they first brought it out.
In Canada there was a 10 year phase in period, depending on age of operator and size of craft. I think the 10 years is up now.
I haven't had a boat for 4 or 5 years now so I am a little out of touch with the regulations

Of course I am sitting here wearing nothing but a pair of shorts (good thing no webcam)

Thank you Father that Yote does NOT have a webcam!;)

Hi Bill. I would gladly trade weather with you and I'd even take the skeeters!

And Hello Jared and Mr Todd!
Wouldn't want to put you or Patty into a comma
How you doing Randy?

So, I thing I'm finally going to get a dog
I have had dogs all my life, and could not image being without one for any length of time.
Right now our old girl is 17 1/2 or there abouts, we were thinking about getting a pup when we had to put our german shepard down earlier this year, but we decided to wait until bear is gone.
She isn't up to having a puppy around and we think one would do her in.

Just do some research on the type of dog that will match your lifestyle and make sure you have the time to devote to their training.

Not in Texas. I remember being 14 with my 350 inboard...from daybreak to sunset.

When me and my wife were split up a while back, I think I missed my dogs more than I missed her....

Funny here most of the serious boating accidents happened with people with no boating experience buying 20 foot and larger boats and then having serious accidents with multiple deaths.
So who where the last people required to get certification in the 10 year phase in period, you guessed it the operators of vessels over 19 feet long.
The first people required to get certification were the guys running car-toppers and 10 hp or bigger outboards.
