Yeah they're not my best friends, but they got a right to life. Alot of people down there poison them, but with the first rain it goes right in the river, and thats not good. So I plant my trees when they are less active and keep the grass between the trees as short as I can. By the time they get active my trees are tall enough for them not to be a threat.

This has really worked well and I dont have to spend money on ant killer.

Hey now days, a farmer has got to figure out all he can to save money. There are all kinds of expenses with growing crops and they ain't cheap. A farmer has got to figure out how to save on those expenses as best as he can.

Its been a while but back when we had a small ranch every penny counted. It didn't take much of a market difference between making a living and losing money. I remember when the market took a big dip and we were only making 24 cents a pound for cattle.

THAT was not good. Dad had a small hobby farm for several years and he raised hogs and cattle. I think the most cattle he ever had at one time was 15 or 20. But he raised hundreds of hogs a year.

Then before I got out he sold out, which really, was a good deal for him.

We had to shut down. It was literally costing us money to raise market cattle than we made. We had an established ranch. I really feel for the guys who were trying to make a living and pay mortgages on the land.

They just pulled the IV and are getting me ready to be discharged, can't wait to sleep in my own bed and eat some decent food. What an ordeal, setup home health to draw blood, call in prescriptions and show me how to give myself injections of blood thinner, they cover all the bases. I had a good stay other than the boredom and bad food, I am going to have to be extra careful handling my knives this might be a bad hobby while on blood thinners <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Caz, you're on SHOTS? What they got you taking?

And while we are on the subject of operations, anyone heard from or know how to contact Architect?
