Randy, I say get the Parang off Amazon and return it if you don't like it. They'll take returns even if the packaging is opened. Believe me, I returned many a knife a year back when I was trying to find a decent fixed blade for camping.

Looks like I missed some interesting conversations here earlier. I had to do some shopping at the grocery store, I think my wife is tired of carrying my butt and sent me. It kicked my butt and now I'm using the ice packs big time.
