Anyone know where an M6 Scout rifle/shotgun is for sale--or the best place to look? Thanks.

They are really rare nowdays. You can check your local pawnshops, craigslist and local trader paper.

You can still find them now and then. There is also the Savage versions still out there. Don't pass up the combo rifles from Rossi and H&R that have a .22lr, .223/243, and 20 or 12 ga brs in a case. I want one of these for the car/truck gun.

I remember when the M6 was extremely cheap, and readily available. Sadly you don't see them anymore. Apparently the people who were smart enough to buy them (this EXCLUDES me) realize what a practical firearm they have, because when they do find their way on the secondary market they are EXPENSIVE now. Gbroker would be my only guess, but be prepared for Bussekin like secondary market prices.
Remington was importing combo firearms not that long ago, but they were heavy and suffered some reliability issues.
If compactness is the OP's goal I offer this solution....
Marlin Papoose
I've owned one, and regretably sold it. They are, however, still in production and are capable of better accuracy than I've seen with the M6. You do not get the 410 shotgun, but you do get a very lightweight semi-auto take-down 22LR.

I believe CZ still makes a survival/scout rifle. A hunting buddy of mine has one in 410/22 Hornet and they have different models/calibers.

If memory serves, CZ made the M6 for SA, Inc.

A rifle I had many many years ago and wish I had not sold was an AR7 Explorer. VERY light weight and everything stored in the buttstock. Not sure who makes it now. But it (mine at least) was a good shooter.

Henry Repeating Arms is the current maker of the AR7.
