Mods please feel free to remove this if not appropriate !

The nights are starting to drop cooler and that means we will be lighting up the woodstove so today I figured I'd make some Fuzz-sticks.
Now I ain't the best at making these so take that into account when judging the work of each knife !

First up my Booshway, this is a sorta jack of all trades knife, if ya only gonna carry one edged tool then this is a great one to have. Pretty comfy to use and the fuzz stick while not being the best, would certainly get a fire going !

Next up was my Knatchet, I wish any of those that doubt this tool could try it because I think they would be pleasantly suprised !

Onto my Wohlwend Bushcrafter, man this thing bites into wood. Hardest thing with this little blade is stopping it going in too deep. I'd rate this a very close second in this line up of fuzzy makers...great little blade !

Now onto my Dave Farmer Camp knife. This is the first knife I take when camping, performs awesome on food stuffs.
As I started the Fuzzy I thought this knife was gonna take first place, man does it cut nice. However after only a few cuts my hand really started to hurt, you can see on the pic that I stopped this Fuzzy pretty early on due to the discomfort. Dave made this knife a long time ago so if his handles are now more comfy then I think his entry in the Bushcraft challenge is really gonna be a touigh one to beat !

And so to the one I rated best overall in this bunch, my little ML Survivalist.
This knife cuts so smoothly and while not biting in quite as much as the Bushcrafter still gets the job done. The thing that gives this the edge though is the handle, very, very comfy. No hotspots at all, I think I could cut with this all day long !

Made some more fuzz sticks today using some different blades:

First up was the big guns starting with the SRKW Chopweiler, this is the knife I use to make my smaller kindling with a batton.
For a big knife this makes pretty darn good fuzzy's. Not the most comfy for this task but not too bad !

Then the one that everyone on here loves, the Tom Brown Tracker. This knife actually made the best curls of all the knives I used !

Next up was my ML Kephart. Man this blade just goes through wood like a hot knife through butter. Very comfy handle as well, no complaints with this knife !

Now for my JK TTSK. A great handle on this knife, very comfy in most grips. The fuzzy was not bad, I'd say about on a par with my Booshway !

I've saved the biggest suprise for last, my little BHK Necker. I was amazed how this little knife zipped through the wood and for a small blade it was also really comfy to use. This is the smallest real knife I have, weighs next to nothing, yet I'd put it against any of the big blades at wood shaping !

And remember I was only judging them at Fuzzies, if I did other tasks the positions would likely change

Nice comparision.
You've got some great customs!!!
Personally I like the Booshway the best of what you showed. Very cool design and looks as though it would be very functional.
Second up, the BHK necker. That thing is sweet!!! I like the Ness Muk blade shape.
Thanks for posting Pit.

My fuzz sticks suck. But I do them best with a Mora. Thanks for the great pictures, pitman. I'm glad that Tom Brown Tracker is working out for you. It's a heck of a thing to have to regrind a $200 blade just to get it to cut well. I have done a few more of them since doing yours.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Nicely done Pitman. I have a ML Kephart and love it. They are great bushcrafting /comping knives. I can't wait to start camping again...soon.

Great pics and comparison.

I've never tried to make fuzzy sticks before. This weekend I'm going camping, and will try this with a few different knives.

Nah the choil ain't really a problem it's just the narrow angular handle slabs, real shame cos the blade cuts like magic !

The last time I made fuzz sticks was 30 years ago in the Boy Scouts. You make it look easy. Nice work.
