I'm thinking I might "need" one <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> ! Yeah right!
Any folks have love for them or tell me what they are like? Might be time for one of these or maybe going on a grail hunt- The Dog Skinner or maybe Rat Hunter... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />
Thanks all! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I've seen quite a bit talk about them lately so I googled the little guy, and couldn't figure out what I'd use it for.
Hatchets don't interest me much, and the Ratchet seems too small and short to offer much in the way of mass / momentum. What can it do that a Dogfather can't?

NOTE: I'm not saying that we all shouldn't want EVERY Bussekin offering. My views are just jaded by my survivalist / pragmatist mentality.

It does have a better forward weight than say, a knife with a similar blade size, it's not gonna out chop a big knife by any means, but in tight spaces, where you couldn't swing a big blade, it would be very capable

As cool as it is, I still am not sure what it is for. I suppose you could skin an animal with one. It's too little and light to do much chopping with. With a good edge, I bet it's a heck of an onion chopper! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

WHAT??? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" /> HERESY! Where's my Scrapizashi when I need it? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> ) I think you misunderstood my statement.... I'm NOT saying we all should NOT want every Bussekin. Its a double negative = positive...or put another way..."We should all want every offering, but I'm not sure what I'd do with this particular one". <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

A guy tries to make a CYA statement and THAT is what gets people riled up <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> .
NOTE: this post was a gratuitous attempt at edging closer to JYD status.

Bruce - as a side, I'm glad you have the time line post linked in your sigline. It makes it easy for me to reference.

Well... I guess I'll be the odd man out here... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> I have a Ratchet and really like it! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> It chops surprisingly well for it's size too!! It makes a good companion to a small blade and can really come in handy when having a Big Ole Chopping Blade just isn't possible, or acceptable. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
