I had a couple, the full convex grind ones feel the best, I prefer the shsj over the boss jacks myself for overall feel though

I thought the prototypes felt blade-heavy last Spring, but I just bought a pair of them at Knob Creek (they were one of the Desert Warfare Set knives), and the balance felt good to me. I'm not sure if they changed over the past 6 months or if I did, but I like them. When I spoke with Amy on the phone, the BOSS Jacks were among her favorites.

I handled one at KC, and it felt blade heavy. I prefer a "nose heavy" blade for most everything except detail work..so I liked it.

That's what this is (desert sand) I guess there is a few different models I should have been more clear... This has a choil and it looks like it has a fuller groove

I looked at the ones Jim bought. IIRC I've seen three types (no choil, small choil, and large choil).
I've seen the "large choil / fuller" version most often.

I looked at some at the AG Russell show and they did not do much for me. But then again, if someone wants to send me one I will do a test and eval on it.
