Myke, so sorry to hear that you had to have her put down. That is truly a hard thing, one I never look forward to. May the she be happy in chasing mice up in the big field.

Really sorry to hear this . We just got back from another trip and one of our " rescue cats" is missing. We have had him for over ten yaers and he is in excellent health. I have contacted EVERYWHERE in town- asked around on every street- searched the woods and NOTHING.Not a trace . The girls run my office when I am gone and there is someone here every single day. Really a bummer losing a friend so our hearts go out to you. hang in there

My condolences, I've had to put down a few animals myself, One Yellow lab named Bodi, and two cats, Romeo and Rembrandt, and I still miss them terribly. I am truly sorry for your loss, my friend.

Sad to hear man. But unfortunately when they are in pain you have to make the merciful decision to put them down. To medicate and diagnose them to the end when they obviously are hurting is a selfish call, and I'm glad you guys did not make it.

It was hell when I had to put my shepherd down. I still tear up thinking about her and it's been nearly four years.

The healing has begun..We adopted 2 cats today,
Cloe & Benny.Benny is Cloe's protector/friend so we took them both.Cloe was a stray & Benny's owner died & he was alone in the basement for awhile before being found. They teamed up in the foster home where we met them monday & Cris & I didn't have the heart to split them up.
The woman that was fostering them brought them over this evening & now they are getting to know thier new home & friends.

Very sorry to hear about your loss Myke. I had to put my cat Calvin down a few months ago and it was very hard to do (I still miss him a lot). I raised him from a 6 week old kitten and had to put him down at 15 years old. That's a long time to spend with a pet and I truly miss him. I'm sure it was tough for you and Cristine but you will always have the great memories of Roddy and that makes it all worthwhile.

Nice to see you adopted more cats...I made a promise to Calvin before I had to put him down that I would adopt/rescue another cat in his name (I adopted Calvin from a pet shelter when he was 6 wks old) and I plan to make good on that promise in early 2011.

Even though your new cats can never replace your loss, I wish you and them great times and great memories.

RIP Roddy & Calvin
