So I made my first You Tube video and choose feather sticks as the subject.
It's short and to the point only illustrating how I do it.
This is the technique that works best for me with a big knife.
I love my Dog Father and combined with a Leatherman and my LMIW (not here yet) sheath it's all I would need in the bush.
Don't mind the RC 4!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/paperbag.gif" alt="" />

Nice video. I never thought of using that technique with larger blades. I always braced the stick between the ground and my chest and two-handed the knife. That looks much easier. Thanks for sharing.

I never would have thought about doing a stick the way you did with the DF. In NOTHING else, it would be a LOT safer to do it that way.

Great technique with the Dogfather. It made some really nice curls on the fuzzstick

Thanks for all the compliments guys.
I want to remind every one that I didn't invent this method. I saw it in another video this spring but I can't find that original video.
It sure does work well a a big knife.
I frequently use this method with my smaller blades like the RC 4 and DM.
When I get my Scrapivore I'm gonna try with that as well. I think it's thin handle may make wood processing uncomfortable if it's not wrapped.
Glad you all like the technique.

Great start to your videography career.
I'm gonna give that a try too.
Thanks Steve.
