I thank you all for your prayers. I have so many good memories of Ed. He didn't mean to be funny, but he was. He bought all his clothes from the Sportsman's Guide. Mr. Fashion. Serbian fatique pants, Belgian air force shirts, Romanian field jackets. Ed was so frugal. I found out yesterday that there will be a memorial service for him tomorrow. I had to buy $400 dollars worth of new clothes just to go there dressed properly myself. I should have just worn my normal Cabella's outdoor stuff, but I did not want to insult his family. Even in death, Ed showed his frugality. He was cremated. No way Ed would spend $10,000 on a hole in the ground unless there was gold or oil in it.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

My condolences, Horn Dog.

He looks and sounds like a man full of great stories whether he told them or not. I am sure they all didn't go with him without being passed on and he will be remembered through them.

Good words JJ, for a good Man. Yup the "Old timers" are a good find and they are unfortunately getting harder to find all the time much to our loss.

R.I.P. Ed. My thoughts go out to you and yours HD, and to his family most certainly. I'm sure he's throughly enjoying his new stomping grounds, wherever he is, may his favorite pasttime be bountiful.

Sorry to hear about this HD. I remember a thread not to long ago you posted of the two you and the story about his socks. Sounded like a great guy. He has my prayers.

Thanks to you all. Ed was a Navy and Air Force veteran, and fiercly patriotic. I had the high honor of meeting his dear mother today. She must be 90 or more. She asked to meet me. She told me that Ed often spoke of me. It made me feel so honored and proud. I appreciate all your prayers and kind words. The Yard is like a second family to me. God bless you all.

Ed sounds like a great man. My condolences. Thank you for sharing HD. The way you honor him makes me smile. I know we have all lost special people. When you believe in salvation, even in death there is reason for celebration.

I hate losing a friend. My heart goes out to you Vic on this loss.
Always remember those hunts, his laughter and his degree of patriotism and perhaps that will bring a smile through your pain.
Ed sounds like a friend you really felt close to and for your loss and his rising up I pray.

Dave

Very sorry for your loss Vic. It sucks losing a good buddy like that. Reminds us that life is too short, and to cherish the time you share with family and friends. Raising my glass to Ed...
