Wow, Revengencer, you put that knife to work. Good to see it can take the abuse.

MPLE= What can I say, a FANTASTIC 3 1/2 inch prybar of a knife that is so useful it is crazy.
So, what are some of the things that you have used it for?

Cutting twigs and limbs up to about an inch. PRYING open windows, palletts and cutting the normal string, cardboard, prying apart about 2 inch limbs just to split them long ways and slicing up old tires. Oh and it DOES work for cutting up your food too! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Skunkhunter - Yes, I can tell it is great place. As far as the knives go; I originally purchased a CS Trailmaster and a Recon Scout. I ran across Noss's S6 review, and a video of a kid accidentally breaking a Trailmaster while batoning. Everything kind of fell together for me then: If I am going to spend that kind of money on a wilderness knife, I wanted one that was DESIGNED to be unbreakable. The two CS knives got returned unused. When I joined this forum, the email took me straight to the design page of SY. Truly fascinating stuff, radiused turns, checking each knife for micro-cracks, I am even quite impressed that there is no exposed tang. I had wondered why, and the explanation was so, well, logical. It would have looked a lot cooler, but I don't spend much time trying to hammer with the butt of my knives anyway. Big companies are often more concerned with the image than the substance. No denigrarion to CS, I have more than one of their knives. But when it comes to down and dirty, I think I'm going to like that DF the best. I'm not to worried about it breaking on me if it happens to get wedged somewhere it doesn't belong. I've found my home. It's strange no-one had thought of it before. BTW, the SOD is paid for and on the way to me! Bill

I don't know if it was here or another tread, but someone TESTED out a TT regulator I think it was. They dismantled a car! The hood, doors AT THE HINGES finally broke it while beating it through the front bumper mount bracket, and this was on an SUV I think. Oh Long story short, Dan has the best warranty in the business. Part of it DOES read "Unintentional damage". To me this would mean IF we needed to pry open partol Car doors again in the winter or at an accident and the knife broke Dan would replace it under his NO BS Warranty.

[quote]This is a thread I created after a camping trip two weeks ago. You might find it interesting.....[quote]
That was a cool post. I agree about being a beginner at chopping. My first shot was on an old 2x4. It quickly made me realize that the knife is only half of the equation when it comes to working with wood efficiently.
Of course, I also realized that WHICH knife made a big difference as well.
