It's just a little senseless entertainment Vic. Besides, we all KNOW the government is corrupt and infiltrated with no-goodnicks!

I know. I am just a grumpy old man. I never cared about horror movies of any kind since about the 4th grade. For years I would not even read fiction. I mean, if you know it isn't real, why waste your time reading it? Later I learned that there is much truth in fiction and plenty of lies in non-fiction.

But AMC really ticked me off cancelling Rubicon, a really good series, and replacing it with Zombies. I had come to expect more from AMC. Now they are like the rest of the channels. Maybe if I get drunk on Sunday nights the Walking Dead will seem better. God forbid they keep a series that required an attention span of over thirty seconds by the viewer.

I kept wanting to like Rubicon, but between a slow pace and so many characters that I just didn't care about, I just couldn't. I didn't even dislike many of the characters enough to want to see bad things happen to them, but felt like I'd keep glancing at my watch if I was in the same room with them.

So they canceled Rubicon!???

I hate there short run shows, that give you just enough time to get a little interested, and then you either have to wait a year for more or they canel them all together. One of the regular channels canceled a show right in the middle of a "to be continued" episode a few years back, I was really steamed, Thanksfully I finally got to see the rest on DVD eventually.

The pace was very slow at first, but it picked up in last three episodes. For those accustomed to James Bond type action spy flicks, it was subtle and boring. But the series is the first one I have seen that accurately portrayed the nitty gritty of intelligence work. The main villian, Truxton Spangler, head of API, was quite a character. It was a totally different kind of entertainment than Walking Dead, and obviously did not appeal to the masses much. It has been cancelled. But I loved it. Obviously my tastes in entertainment are as non mainstream as I am.

Only one or two here on my island have them. They are highly sought after here. And we don't really need zombie movies. We have Walmart!

I have to admit that while I found Rubicon interesting and entertaining, I did get lost a few times watching it. I rarely ever just watch TV, I'm usually working, steping in and out of the shop, and so on, so if something is slow or real detailed, I miss stuff sometimes. With The Walking Dead, I can work and be entertained without having to give the tube 100% of my attention.

Now as for Walmart... Talking about Scary!!! I steer clear of that place as much as I can!!!

well I was a little disappointed that the walking dead played so heavy into the whole stereotype thing. but hey that's tv for you. with such a short run they needed to create dynamics.

never watched much AMC and never caught Rubicon.

And I will say this about WombieMart... Just like all the zombies go in at certain times all the hotness will be in there all at one time. Just they have hotness lives to go live so they aren't hanging around clogging up the isles. I mustve gone in there right after a hotness payday or something. Felt like every isle was heading me to the wedding isle!

So, another episode coming up tomorrow, looking forward to it.

While its a very entertaining show, I can't get over how dumb these people are (a fellow zombie preparedness'ist and myself have discussed this at length ) :

1. You have a hacksaw, the zombies are kind of unable to get to you, do you really take off your hand or the bolt that you're cuffed to?

2. Tents. Really?

3. You know they are attracted to loud noises, yet you don't pull over to yank the car alarm once its beyond useful (you'd think you would do it just because of the noise.)

4. Old RV or new cargo van that can safely hold a lot of people.. Which do you choose?

5. You drive your cargo van into town, you plan on taking it back to camp. Do you really leave it with the back wide open?

Despite the people's cringeworthy foolishness, its entertaining, I'll definitely catch tomorrow's episode

Let me add some more:

6. You act like tools are scarce and you can't just find a Lowes to plunder.

7. Same goes for your [censored] radiator hose on your crappy old RV.

8. You fool around in water that could be infested with zombies who don't need to breathe.
