I'm so sorry to hear of you family's loss. Phillip will probably need extra support and understanding during this holiday season -- between the "darker days" of Winter and missing loved ones who they'd normally see at family gatherings, it tends to be a hard time for people. It may sound sort of hollow, even a platitude, but my dad used to say, "This too shall pass" when upset by some event, but it turns out to be true once you can put some time behind you. Phillip's fortunate to have you to help get him through this.

Kylie, We ARE a family here. We may have never met and perhaps never will but we none the less are a family. Patty and I both send our heart felt condolences to you and Vance. We pray that you will ALL find the strength you need in the coming times. It will be hard, even impossible at times, but try and concentrate on the good, the fun times you all had together.
May You ALL have peace and rest in your lives and may you all feel God's comforting hand upon your shoulders.

Thank you so much everyone! Phillip and I have been reading these posts and really appreciate the kind words of encouragement from everyone. The strength of everyone's thoughts and prayers have really been felt by Phillip and I.
