I have noticed that there are a few outfits in the knifemaking community who seek input from their customers in regards to knife design...any chance the big dogs in the Yard will follow suit? How 'bout a knife design contest?establish two or three catagories of knife, then let us come up with some designs,do a poll of said designs and make a limted run(1000?) of the winner's designs, with the first of the litter going to the winner(s)!

customer designed knives?

I love the hard use designed knives I've seen over in the Swamp, and at the Busse's 'house',but one other style of knife I love and have'nt seen is the hide-a-way style fighter,or,boot-knife style...anyone else like to see something like that show up in the Yard? You other Bowie fans may recall seeing the coffin handled and dog-bone handled bowies (mostly customs),how 'bout a 4-5 inch single bladed fighter with a full length false edge?

I like a variety of knives, but "fighting" knives really ain't it...I have seen more folks messed up with box cutters than with fighting knives. A boot knife though...now you onto something.

workin' on putting together catalog of sorts that I can post on-line,once my lil' bro gets me a website built,as I'm planning on going into knifemaking full time in the next 5-10 years.Have been slowly working towards doing the same as them over at the Swamp and here in the Yard are doing...on a slightly smaller scale.Once I get my designs finalized and web ready,I'll let you know where to look.

I feel pretty comfortable with what Dan had posted with pictures. I prefer knives capable of hard use as well as defense a.k.a. multi- functional.

It would be interesting to see your catalog Wolf once you get it all done. Best of luck in your endeavors!

These things take time Andy. Wolf should be commended for having the courage to pursue his dream. Thank goodness a couple of guys named Busse pursued theirs! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I think any new blood in knife design is a good thing. Busse has done many utter classics, who knows who the next Busse is??
