Dan
Could we please get the Scrapivore CG with a nice thin grind. I know that was stated as a special attribute of the LE, but I think that the CG should be taken down nice and thin on the primary grind (if not quite as thin as the LE). Because it is such a small knife it should be best suited for fine tasks, and I really don't think I'm up for sending this one away to be reground as soon as I get it. Anyone else with similar thoughts please feel free to chime in.
I would also like the hardness to be kept up around 62 for the CG model but I don't want to sound like I'm asking for too much here. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
Thanks for any responses <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Sorry, gottahaveit22, but I am against everything you just requested. You just described an LE, except maybe you want a coated LE.
I suggest getting an LE and having it coated or coating it yourself.

JJ is right, get the LE and have it coated. We have a member here who does nice coating jobs.

What Sumo and JJ said, I think Dan already said somewhere that the cg wasn't going to be as hard, but I don't remember anything about the grind

Thanks for the replies guys. I would get an LE if I could...but it seems I no longer can. The hardness thing is fine with me, but as far as the grind goes, I just can't understand a thick grind on just about any knife, especially on one as small as the Scrapivore. I also think that the idea that for a knife to be tough it has to have an overly thick edge is a fallacy. A so called "beater" doesn't have to compromise edge quality and cutting ability completely to take a beating. Besides what are you going to be beating on with a Scrapivore?

You'll be able to get an LE, but it'll cost you a little more. Just watch Bladeforums exchange when they start shipping, there'll be more than one on there.

I don't know about the other folks, but for me the extreme hardness was a concern. Dan himself said that the LE was not a prying (tip?) tool. That the CG would be more useful for that types of usage. I for one use my knives for things other than what they were designed to do, CUT. I DO pry, dig and twist with my knives. Just an old country boy that is to old and set in his ways to change. Most of us here buy Dan's blades because THEY CAN BE ABUSED and laugh in our faces while we are doing it. The LE was purpose made I think to be a CUTTING tool unequaled, to slice and pierce SOFT objects. Now the CG, it's in my opinion gonna be made to be more of an all around last ditch or LIGHT prying tool.
Just my two cents worth for what it's worth. That's why I am opting for the CG.

PS: Again the hardness thing is not as big an issue for me. Yes. I do want a thicker grind and a lower hardness. If I wanted a thinner grind and a higher hardness, I would have gotten a Scrapivore LE, which was designed for people looking for those attributes. I think it is cool there will be two versions of this blade with different attributes.

I think it is cool there will be two versions of this blade with different attributes. This is where it's at. The Yard is being blessed with two options...enough to feed everyone's interests!! Loving it! I'm getting two of each...and my LE's may very well end up as part-time EDC...you know, for cutting apples and such <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> Keep up the varying selections, Dan! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
