Got the ole' Rez Hogg stuck on the Rez while coyote hunting. It took quite a bit of rocking back and forth to get her unstuck. I only took one picture because I was already late getting home for a lunch at the in-laws.

It was a big puddle that was covered by ice and newly fallen snow. I was creeping along looking for coyotes when the ice broke. It was even deeper in the middle. Crazy.

Just thought I'd share.

Man, I used to avoid those low spots like the plague when I still lived in mountain country. I got to where I would just go around them (getting off the road or trail, not very eco friendly but usually kept me from getting stuck).

Thanks for sharing.

No yotes that morning. I got out a bit later than I had wanted. At that time of the day, the coyotes are already a bit higher. But, with the winter conditions, I could not make it up on the top of the ridge.

I was really amazed that the rock and roll worked. At first, it only rocked an inch forward and an inch back, barely moving. I was afraid that I would ruin the tranny. But, everything worked out.

Getting stuck and having to dig yourself out bites the bigger one!

Never leave the house without your rubbers (slicker suit and rubber boots)! You never know when you'll have to crawl under your truck in frozen mud/brown slush/apple sauce to dig yourself out.

Oh, and I have burned up a transmission doing the rock and roll, but you do what you gotta do.

Too bad no coyotes.

reminds me of when I saw four these guys standing around looking at a car that had rolled over a small ledge and gotten stuck. I think they were waiting on a tow truck or something. I told them to "just pick it up". they looked at me like I was crazy. I went over and told them to grab it, pick it up, and push. 30 seconds later the car was ready to roll.

some thought, some effort, and some muscle... :THUMB:

and I guess some experience helps. but don't ask me how I knew.

Oh Crap!!!

That must have been bad! I'm looking at getting a winch and some other recovery tools. At least a come-along and a high-lift Jack.

I'm going for yotes tonight, hopefully. I'll post some pics of my rez adventures.
