We went out for a shoot and a short hike. Here are some pics:

Wow,looks like a good time was had by all.
I've allways wanted to go wander around in the desert in AZ.or NM.

Great pics. Looks like you had fun for sure. How do you like the 1861/63 Sprigfield? Now I see where the falls get the name. Thanks for sharing.

The 1861 is an impressive piece. We were whacking steel plates at 200 yards with it. A 75 grain load seemed to work quite well for us. Aamazing that a soldier would get off a round every 20 seconds with one. My black powder experience is very limited, but I definitley want to learn more.

We have done quite a bit of training in this area and there is always something new to find. I had not been to these falls before. Apparently Pancho Via hung out here back in the day. There is a Spanish fort from the 1600's not too far from where we were at. We pass it on a Jeep run that we do from time to time.
