Well,I got tired of having to dig half of my knives out of the bottom of the storage side of my gun safe to get to the one(s) I want to play with/use.
They were in their sheaths leaning in the corner/sides all bunched up or stacked on the only open section of a shelf. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />
I've been wanting one of these for awhile so I used part of my christmas bonus to finally get one.YEAAA! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I decided on an intermediate chest vs a box with a flip up top for the added storage space on top.
Being in an apartment,I need all the space I can get. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
The bottom 3" drawer holds sheaths & folder boxes,
the middle 2" is for Bussekins & a couple of other choppers.
(I'll make a couple of slotted slats to hold the blades in an upright position so I can fit the others on "the list" in.)
And the top 1 incher is for folders & custom/simi customs & others.Maybe flashlights too.

Yippie,no more digging in the dark bottom of the gun safe.
Sorry about the whited out knife, please don't ask.

It's a really nice idea, I hadn't ever thought about using a tool chest for knife storage, but I love it!

Thanks for sharing!

Woodlander, I have a wooden box similar to Myke's that I use and they are very nice. Don't have to be expensive boxes, but be sure and put something down in the bottom for the knives to rest on.

Oh yeah! Hard on edges if not! (especially metal tool chests!)

Good idea and nice collection Myke. Bolt it down to that cabinet so some punk tweeker can't walk off with it too easily. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

I did a similar thing by putting some of the firearm magazines in a 6 drawer Craftsman rollaway. Would like to organize the knives but allready have 10lbs. of stuff in my 5lb. hobby room.

Thanks,I will definitely bolt it down. That's another reason I went with the chest, less portable. It's already got holes in the bottom,so bolting it down won't be a problem.
I made the devider to hold the blades upright this morning, works good.

My Eyes, my eyes! Myke, please stop showing the SS4! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Oh and is the green handled folder one of the Emerson Ravens?

Sorry I forgot to answer you yesterday Randy, yes it's a spearpoint raven.

And whatta'ya got against the SS4?
Dont like 'em huh?
Is it the mudders you don't like,or just black mudders.Wish they were orange?(I do)
Is it the polished spine, infi, coated infi?
Is it the black coating, wish it was pink do ya?
Whatta'ya got against the SS4 Randy?Huh?
Poor SS4,it's a great knife,you should give one a try before you pass judgement on 'em. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

All joking aside, when I first saw all the knives on the knife page the SS4 was the one that really talked to me,
I found it on ebay not long after. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
Then I found the exchange. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />
