That squirrel would have been long gone if I were shooting! The afternoon spent playing and having alone time is a lesson learned. Thanks for taking time to share and remind us all that Me time is important too! ![[Linked Image from i167.photobucket.com]](http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u151/Prince_of_Peace/th_Squirrel.jpg) Peace.

I did not know that you could boil water in a plastic bottle, nifty! Learn something new every day! The shotgun patterning test poignantly illustrated to me how things can go south even when you think you've probably got it beat.
PoP... The vid was EPIC on a scale I have never seen before. I'm going to go fish my water balloon launcher out of storage and try that now!

ECF, if I hadn't read your thread I never would have known it was a video! I've seen flying squirrels before, but not like that! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

ecf, as long as the material that is holding the liquid stays cooled enough BY the liquid, it won't melt.

The important thing is to keep the flames from touching the plastic. Sort of works on the same principle as a double boiler, the water keeps the temperature around 212*F

That does make sense, now that I think about it. Kind of offset the bottle from the flame itself so there's no direct contact? Chalk one more up to the list of things that can make all the difference

ecf, as long as the material that is holding the liquid stays cooled enough BY the liquid, it won't melt. It will shrink and deform quite a bit and spills over long before it boils. However what I think you meant is it won't melt through and in that case you are correct.
