never heard of steam punk. didn't read the descriptions above but for some reason those pictures made me think of dr. who and harry potter

Thanks guys. I could have used a couple more assistants, but everyone wanted to work their days jobs instead. I was bummed that I only had the first girl for about 45 mins before she had to go. She was great for the few shots i got of her. I'll hopefully get to shoot some more casual style stuff for them some.

Ted, as usual, extraordinary pictures, You ARE an artist. And like lazi said, a 45 peacemaker and a lever gun along with a (I can't remember the model number) pump action shotgun with an external hammer would have put them over the top! Kind of like a "so you think YOU'RE tough" theme.

I think a Mare's Leg would work OK, not sure about the .45.

I remember that show, Loved the "Rifle". Matter of fact I had a toy copy of it and the holster once as a kid, got it for Christmas and had it wore out before Summer!

Question - I understand what "steampunk" is (based upon the descriptions above), but I don't understand WHERE it is? Is this something people are actually wearing in CA...or is it like all other "high fashion" (reserved to run ways and photo shoots)?

Without some of the ostentatious accessories (the goggles for example) I like the general concept of period clothing. I always thought "Mina" looked awesome in "Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula"....

Arch, Yup that kind of dress (style) is NICE. Just something about it gives women that sophisticated look. ME LIKE!

It's kinda like goth or cyberpunk. There are always some people that dress like this everyday, but mostly it is worn at conventions, club meetings, themed parties, or photoshoots. It's a fun genre if you grew up reading Jules Verne, H.G Wells, or watched the original Wild Wild West tv series. The League of Extrordinary Gentleman is an excellent recent depiction. There are starting to be a lot of books, comics, etc. with Steampunk as the central theme. Search Amazon for steampunk to see examples. Also the SyFy channel has Reise, web tv show on their site that is steampunk themed.

BTW - I'm not a steampunk participant, but I do enjoy the look and creativity of the people who do indulge.
