My Rodent Solution came in today. Feels great in hand. Handle is a little larger than expected and knife balances between the two forward holes. Couldn't leave it alone and gave it a convex sharpening. ![[Linked Image from i947.photobucket.com]](http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/ad312/DHOOKER2/014.jpg) Here it is compared with some other knives in the 3 to 4 inch range. ![[Linked Image from i947.photobucket.com]](http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/ad312/DHOOKER2/017.jpg)

You put some wicked edges on those, what do you use? Thanks, sharpening has never been so easy or enjoyable, since I got my 2"x48" sander. I'm still refineing my technique but am satisfied with the results, easy hair poppin. Anyhow, I put a rheostat on the sander so I can slow it down a bit and removed the platen for some good belt flex. Start with 150 grit if a reprofile is needed, then 220, 320, 400, 600,800 grit, and finish with leather belts and black(med.) and green(fine) rouge. As these belts wear out I'll probably use less grits and two leather belts and rouges(use just one) are not necessary. Any advice from from anybody else is appreciated.

I have a 2"x42" belt sander, Craftsman that I have been running 1" belts on and working pretty well for me with blades and kydex. I was wanting to try to figure out a way to slow it down though, how do you put a rheostat on it, and will it hurt the motor.

Got one from eBay for about 20 bucks. The one listed for a router had the appropriate amp rating. makes things more controlled, especially with the leather belt.

So I have to match it to the amp rating of my motor?

Very nice looking blade and edge. I really need to get a belt sander so I can try my hand at this sharpening thing.
