Dan, this is just another reason I love this place so much. Very cool thing to do. Would you post a pic of the finished knife for us when its done?

DAN! GREAT Tribute and a very nice gift. This just once again proves that the CEO of Scrapyard knives DOES CARE for the folks that are his extended family, NOT just customers!

Dan this makes me proud, to be associated (customer/family) with a company that cares, and shows that caring attitude with more than just a letter. My commendations to you and Private Klink for this outstanding tribute.

Patrick will be missed, but not forgotten!

That really is an outstanding gesture, Dan! I hope it helps to mend the pain, if even just for a moment. Brought a tear to my eye, that one did.

I mean, I dont even know who Patric was, but honestly I felt deeply moved by this gesture by the Yard crew. Not too long ago I have been through great (unnecessary) losses in my own family and can relate to the feeling. I am sure that his sister and family will highly appreciate to know that he is missed by many in this community. Not at least, these knives basically live through generations, so what better memorandum is there?

Dogs:

Patrick's sister indicated that everything was lost and they had very little to remember Patrick by. So we, "The Brotherhood Of The Yard" are sending his sister a knife with his name and forum name on the blade.

I would like to thank Private Klink for all of his work in coordinating this effort.

Please keep Patrick and his family in your prayers

Dan
Thank you Dan

Fellow Dogs, I wanted to let you know that I shipped the knife to Pat's sister Karen yesterday, but took a couple of pictures first. Dan said it was OK for me to post them, so here they are:

I would like everyone to know that the knife was presented to Karen and Pat's family on behalf of the entire Scrap Yard community. I would again like to thank all of you for the kind thoughts and words that have been expressed in this thread. I would especially like to thank Dan Busse for making ALL of this possible. Long Live the Brotherhood of the Yard!!!

This is The Yard.

You will be hard pressed to find any knife forum on Earth where the owner and members are on the same page. Our love for each other is genuine.

The loyalty to The Yard is beyond reproach.

This Yard has always been and ever will be a Brotherhood. We bind ourselves daily through our posts.

Filled with joy, anticipation, sorrow and need for a shoulder or a hand up.
This Yard we love and call our home is like no other. You know the truth don't you? You feel it in your heart.

Very different home we share here. A very REAL bond we share here.

As Tiny Tim said in a Christmas Carol; God bless us all, everyone. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />

Peace.

Some people just never learn.
