I have wanted one of these since 1997 when Offroad Magazine did a review of it.
The Jeep is a 1998 Jeep Cherokee Limited 5.9

It has a 380 Magnum Mopar motor,a upgraded transmission that NO other Jeep came with. Speaking of coming with...Limited came only one way with EVERYTHING!
Smokin fast 360 Magnum,Leather everywhere, wood grain accents throughout as well. Windows, locks, cruise, climate control.blah blah blah and a power sunroof.
Jeep sold over a quarter million that year but only 10,051 Limited models.

I ALWAYS wanted a 98 LTD. Speed and a off road monster.

Jeep people know that this Jeep was waaaayyyy ahead of all other SUV's when it came out.

Wikipedia says this:

The 5.9 L Limited ZJ (1998)

The 5.9 Limited was a Jeep Grand Cherokee produced only for the 1998 model year, having more luxury and performance than that of the regular Limited. Chrysler manufactured nearly a quarter million Grand Cherokees in 1998. Of those, fewer than fifteen thousand were 5.9s. It housed a Magnum 5.9 LV8 engine with an output of 245 hp (183 kW) and 345 lb·ft (468 N·m) of torque, going from zero to 60 mph (100 km/h)in only 7.3 seconds[9] (Motor Trend measured this at a slightly faster 6.8 seconds[10]), making it the quickest SUV available that year. The performance of the 1998 5.9 L V8 has been surpassed by Jeep only with the introduction of the 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, which housed a 6.1 L Hemi Engine.[11] The 5.9 Jeep Grand Cherokee was named the 1998 four-wheel drive vehicle of the year by Petersen's 4-Wheel & Off-Road Magazine.[12]

The 5.9 Limited was available only in Deep Slate, Stone White, and Bright Platinum. Other features separated the 5.9 from the standard Limited model including:
A Deep Slate 1998 Grand Cherokee 5.9 L ( Note hood louvers and mesh grille inserts) Functioning heat-extracting hood louvers

I love going through the Wisconsin 4 wheel Drive tracts. WI. is snomobile and Off Road friendly.
Some times we journey into the Indiana Sand Dunes for a day of wicked fun!

I just had to share my latest "Outdoors" fun item. Not a knife but just as fun!
This link is my street.

Keep in mind as the speedo climbs this is a 13 year old Jeep with 180,000 miles on it. Bone stock. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />

Very cool! Nice find, I love those older Grand Cherokees. Wouldn't mind having one myself, as a matter of fact!

SHOWOFF! Actually I am jealous. Mine is a 1990 Jeep Cherokee Pioneer with about 185K, 6 cyl with the stupid enclosed cooling (so they claim) system. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

Oh did I mention that I LOVE my Jeep as well!

Congratulations POP. NICE ride! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Nice score, and at 180K it's right about where it'll start riding right. Probably have another 100K outta that engine <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Gotta love a Jeep! My patriot may be a quasi-jeep, but it still gets around where I need to go.

Great looking Jeep. They do very well on the trail. I wish my Wrangler had a V8.

That run is down the VERY rural road we live on.

Never seen a LEO on our road, only 6 farms on it. Two miles of flat straight road. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Plus I had to see what it would do. That clip was my cell phone HD camera.

Fun Jeep. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
