I sold my HK USP, and had to ship it "overnight". I just came back from UPS, and couldn't believe it cost $62.35 to send a 2.98 pound box (12" x 7" x 2") "NEXT DAY AIR".

My favorite part...since its Friday..."Next Day Air" means it will be delivered by 3pm on MONDAY.

What a scam.

im sure some of you guys have been seeing this. guess it goes here with the pistols...

It seems like its legal to convert a pistol into a full length legal rifle [color:"red"](*not a short barrel rifle!*)[/color] and still be able to go back to pistol.

http://www.atf.gov/regulations-rulings/rulings/atf-rulings/atf-ruling-2011-4.pdf

It is something I always wondered about but could never find clear answers. I saw some posts about this a while back. figured i should wait until it was a little more info available. it came up again... i always take most info i find on the net with a "wait for it..." approach. this is seeming to be the current deal.

Of course please confirm this to your own satisfaction before showing up at the range on ATF inspection day giving the agents the evil eye or something. if you do decide to just take my word for it then just tell them "<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/chill.gif" alt="" />...lazi said its okay!" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> seriously... don't!

Ya, the LCP shoots great for what it is. I'm kinda thinking about a Glock 26 but I think 19 and LCP really is a better CC arsenal. A 26 might be too close in size to the 19 without the performance gains.

Imaginefj,

The G26 isn't close in size to the G19. I own both, and find the G26 to be about as potent a CCW package as anything on the market.

Since they introduced the G26 and G27 I've probably owned a dozen of each. My uncle bought a G26 the month they were introduced, and he still carries that same gun every single day. I think it was '94 or was it '96?

Anyway, when someone tells me they want to own one handgun and then asks my advice the answer is simple: GLOCK 19!!!! I rarely advise people to get a G26 - because 99% of people don't carry their guns. However, if you already have a G19 the G26 is a great companion gun.

I also have a LCP and carry it daily.

Hey Arch, I have one of the original into the States G19 with a busted off rear sight. Will that work? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Yeah I know I need to get some sights on it. But I want something like the Ashley Express sights, bead front and V rear. Just gotta get in gear and do it.
I do like that "Tactical Tupperware"!
I bought it off a fellow police officers widow after he died from a brain aneurism one morning so It has special meaning to me.

I ordered a Sig 239 in 9mm as soon as they became available in 1996 I think and have been carrying it the longest. My body does not do well with inside the waistband so I used to carry it in a fanny pack until people started realizing that it was a gun. I still take it as my car gun on trips and in the colder months when I have an overgarment.

My house guns are Sig 226s. One a 9mm and one a .40.

I have been carrying a Kahr PM9 for 5 or 6 years now and I can't say enough about it. Mine has been totally reliable and I carry it as a pocket gun stoked with Win bonded 124 gr. +P bullets. I tried a Smith 642 and wanted to love the simplicity but apparently the bigger you get the smaller they make your pockets. The 642 is at least 1/2" longer and 1/2" taller than my PM9 so it doesn't fit as well in a pocket.

On really lightweight days I carry a Ruger LCP with CT laser. It also has never failed.

I hear a lot about Glocks and I actually recommend them to new owners that feel they fit their hand. I have nothing bad to say about them but my grip is so high that the slide cuts skin off the top of my hand and I am afraid one day it will slow down the slide enough it will jam. It also isn't much fun to train with due to the pain and blood.

I have seen a lot of Sigs shot in qualifications and training and I have seen exactly two failures. One was when there was no lubrication at all inside the gun, it had not been cleaned the previous year after qualification, and it had been shot that day approximately 50 rounds. The second one was when snow had been packed under and around the hammer. It took three hammer falls to move it out of the way and the gun fired fine after that.

I am currently exploring S&W M&Ps as they are lighweight, more ergonomic to me, and have a beavertail to prevent me from getting slide bite. I also just got a Ruger 1911 I am so far very pleased with. I don't think I will use it as a carry gun though. Just ran an old guy through a qualification during a stress fire stage...he pulled his Colt Commander and forgot to take off the safety and tried to pull the trigger at leats 3 times before he realized it. Seems he has carried a Sig for 20 years. I don't recommend going back and forth on action types, just MHO.

I have had lots of Ruger single actions and .44 revolvers but finally realized my deer season is only one week long here and that is a lot of money in guns that doesn't get used much. Sold/selling them off to get military rifles to shoot in Appleseed (www.rwva.org) which I highly recommend to all my friends and family as incredible inexpensive (free to women and youth) rifle marksmanship training.

My most recent purchase...

It looks a little different now however, bead blasted, action job, Paccy grips and the red ramp taken off and replaced with a black patridge.. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Thanks mate, it took me nearly 12 months to find a 686-3 that was in good enough condition for me to be happy with it. While this was with S&W Australia getting worked on they commented that it was basically new... not bad for a 1993 production revolver.. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
