Nice meeting you yesterday Jim....and nice scores too. Were we the only two that scored a bama clay DF? Or was there more than two?

Jim, thank you for the detailed pictures. That is definitely a new version.

a) the blade looks .25-.50" longer
b) the grind is full height flat
c) the spine is squared off (not rounded / polished)
d) most interesting to me...and I'm curious to learn more, but the new ones do not state "INFI" under the SYKCO logo like the originals. I assume they are still INFI...but did anyone confirm with Garth / Busse group?

Very very cool that there seems to be new blood on the horizon. This would be such a fantastic knife for the yard, giving the newer dogs an opportunity to obtain a very versatile blade a yard pricing (if it ever happens).

Thanks for sharing!!

Good to have met you too. When I saw one 'Bama Clay Dog Father, I assumed there were more under the table. However, the only Scrap Yard box with much in it was the one of Mud Puppy CGs, so I think there may have only been two.

Thanks Lincoln; your FSH was a lucky find. There weren't many (I only saw one in 'Bama Clay) and they were all gone when I got to the the table where they'd been because I'd stopped to grab the SS4 on the way. I asked the crew if there was another FSH in any of the boxes under the tables, but no luck, so I continued gathering steel. I kept looking though, and like my muddy SFNO, somebody put it back as they were getting ready to pay for their knives. At first, I had to check to make sure it was really a FSH -- nobody puts those back -- but that's what it was, so I grabbed it.

Also, I was in a quandary over your M9. I grabbed exactly what you'd asked for initially: a light colored blade (Sage), with Tan Micarta handles. However, there was also a M9 in 'Bama Clay with Black G10 handles. I carried it around for a while before putting it back, because between the two, the canvas Micarta handles felt better in my hand and it cost $30 less than the one with G10. You specifically requested Micarta, and if I'd been buying for myself, the one you asked for is the one I'd have chosen, so that's what you got.
