Essentially the Busse Terror Monkey-DSF but with a DE-regulator handle and in SR101 or 154cm.

Terror Monkey is the best knife name ever... Pass on the Regulator handle though, unless you get Scrapizashi style guard lugs- in that case, hell yes!! Black res-C over 154CM... Niiiiiiiiiice!

Paul, if the UK is so stringent on folders not locking how are they on fixed blades, I mean what kind of knives are legal over there?

TM best knife name???? Nah, can't see a Terror Monkey beating a Wiener!

Randy- Wiener is numero Uno, forever! +1

You know, PtB's idea actually sounds to me like a rock solid idea. Having a steel blade catch lug hidden within the hilt of a Dereg handle, to reenforce it against cuts when employed as a fighter. I don't doubt that RES-C can stand up to a beating, but being used more than a few times to counter another sharp blade, it would have to give sometime. The lug would prevent that, however. +1

Gosh I guess I just don't get it.

The Regulator is a beautiful Fighter. The 7 inches of love from the Scrap pile has great heft. Balance is in the hand, not the blade.

The blade on a Terror Monkey is much longer thus putting the weight forward of the grip.

As far as a blade catch,TM doesn't have one, Regulator either.

And how many times in a lifetime would you use a blade catch to grab another's blade, deflect it and stab the perp?

Honestly I would prefer the weight of the Fighter I use to be in the hand for more control not blade heavy pulling down the tip.

Not sure what to make next if I were Dan. He has covered all the bases now.

A Fighter so close after "in Busse time" the Regulator would be low on the list, but what would be the highest in priority for the next build?

The Yard Hook has a blade catch (I own one, and I forgot to mention it ). I have mine set up to MOLLE to my plate carrier, and I plan to employ it as a dedicated fighter. I personally wouldn't go any longer than the Dereg or YH for a fighter though, something even as long as a DF just becomes too blade heavy. Once you swing it, you're commited to the swing. Unless your follow through is quick, that can be a major disadvantage against an opponent with a smaller, more nimble knife, say a Ka-Bar. The extra reach of a monster chopper is only an advantage when you can keep your opponent at bay. Once he clears your gaurd, it's a matter of who gets the first cut who wins. Another thing, I feel that choppers lend themselves well to long, full arm extension swings, but not so well to rapid changes in direction for draw cuts and defensive cuts. A smart opponent will wait until someone is in the swing through phase before striking at the knife hand. You cut the tendons that support the hand, and that knife becomes a long, heavy meteor. It doesn't do much good when it's laying on the ground. My $.02

Nothing at all wrong with using a large chopper as an offhand defensive blade though. A DF in my left hand with my Dereg in my right is actually my ideal setup

What's legal; SAKs...

I can carry my Yard/Busse knives when hiking or camping but I never openly carry them or use them with people around, a nation that once owned 25% of the worlds surface now is 99.999% sheeple. It is a well known fact over here that ALL fixed knives (except the kitchen types) are carried and owned by violent criminals and not law abiding outdoors people! Rant over!

Well I love My regulator and De-reg but I want something a little more fast and light

The blade catch, I feel, would be pure luck to actually use it in a fight!

As for Dan covering all the bases he could still make an even bigger chopper ala B11 or Bushwacker. Or a hawk...or a kukri...or...a fighter with a res-c handle!

Paul I have heard that Britain has more Ilegally owned weapons than any western nation, do you know if this is true?
