Hey guys,got a quik off topic question. I've heard some good things about Pappy around here, so I been keeping an eye out for some because I shamefully admit I've never tried some. So tonite I found 2 bottles at the local packy. The label read "Pappy Von Winkle 23 years old".Then I saw the PRICETAG! Is this stuff really worth 240 dollars a bottle? Holy fliippin cow! Help me out guys,is that the right price? What's in that stuff? What happens when you drink it? I think I'm scared and tempted at the same time. But I just got my taxces back, should I go for it? Grabbed some Jim Beam black to tie me over. What yall think? Regards, Mike

That's the right price, but it's no where near worth it for how much it costs. You are way better off hunting down a bottle of 15 year old pappy ( at only around 60 to 80 a bottle). The 15 has much better flavor than any of the older varieties

Around here, the Pappy 15yo sells out fastest (at around $65). If memory serves, 20yo Pappy goes for about $110. Personally, I buy 10yo Rip Van Winkle (when I can get it), which goes for around $35. I also prefer the 90-proof to the 107, and still almost always dilute it with a splash of spring water.

I've seen 23yo Pappy priced at about $200 in Louisville, but over the river in Indiana, it's usually around $300. I've never been willing to pay that much for a bottle, especially when I'm VERY satisfied with my RVW. Mom got a bottle of 23yo Pappy from my brother for Christmas, but she hasn't opened it yet (and I don't know if she ever will).

man, I don't think I could do it. but if I ever did it would more about the experience of high dollar liquors than the liquor. I guess that makes it worth it in the scheme life experiences. definitely something I would buy and share because I doubt many people would put out for a bottle. something to talk about and put on the "only live once" list.

but just to get my drinkie drink on? nope...
