+1,000,000 on a BD with orange mudder grips. Or anything with orange mudder grips for that matter. Or anything with mudder grips. Come to think of it I haven't passed up a yard offering since I signed on.

As has been said, Bird Dogs are fairly rare, but as someone who has posted that I have a few, I will say that there's no shortage of people who ask if I'll let go of any (thus far the answer has always been no). The Bird Dog LE was first released for Blade 2008 (Introducing The Bird Dog . . .Bird & Trout Knife!), and there were not enough left overs to be sold in the store. However, back before the revised business model where knives are ordered before being produced, small remainders were sold via the Scrap Yard equivalent of a 'ganza, which was called a "dog bowl", there was a series of three in September 2008 (just after Renee joined the Scrap Yard crew):
The first Dog Bowl featured MPLEs.
Dog Bowl #2 featured BDLEs, which is where I got my first pair.
Dog Bowl #3 Pricing and Procedures featured tan Yard Keepers.

I was able to pick up a couple more BDLEs at the Spring 2009 Knob Creek and a final one at the Fall 2010 show. I don't know when Bird Dog Special Editions (non-numbered, black handle) first appeared, but I don't recall ever actually seeing one in-person, so they're quite rare.

That's what mine is. It's the only one I've seen. I'll try to remember to post a pic tomorrow.

They had Blk Handle Bird Dogs at Blade West 2009 I don't remember if any had showed before that. I had one but sold it to a Dog here.

I frequently use my Bird Dog in the kitchen, especially as a steak knife. Seems like I can put a better edge on it than on my Weiner Dog.

I am a huge fan of Busse, but for some odd reason my favorite knife to use on everything is the Bird Dog. But I never see any love for the Bird Dog, or ever see this amazing knife listed on the exchange. So is this knife a serious cult favorite that no one talks about. Because this knife is a monster tool for the sportsman. So the really reason for this post is Dan how about an ORANGE handle.

Most Dogs love the Bird Dog as I do

An Orange handle is being requested more often...I will give it some serious thought...but no promises

Welcome to the Yard

Serious thought is almost... but no promises is almost a yes.
