Well I was losing it constantly running to the mailbox to look for my scrapizashi (I suppose a 3' sword would be visible from the house sticking out of the end of the mailbox) so I just received a pretty cool looking ratmandu (green with brown scales). Any suggestions on favorite sheath manufacturers? I already know about azwelke, mashedcat, Armorall Leather and Rainwalker. Any other suggestions?

I did buy a spec ops just so I would have something other than rolled up cardboard to carry it around in for now.

edit

The Scrapizashi finally arrived! Woo hooo!

Anyway I already have a azwelke sheath for it. Nicely made and shipped promptly. However it will not hold the sword when the sheath is upside down. A slight movement will cause the sword to fall out. Of course I am prevented from doing cartwheels without losing my sword smirk

I am curious as to whether this is just an inherent problem with kydex? It' just the tension of the two pieces retaining the sword and I'm sure this thing weighs more than most knives so maybe it just won't work? Or should I try someone else? The Mashed Cat sheath that comes with the Scrapivore practically requires the use of a vice to get the ^%$&ing thing out.

+1 on the Buy Brown for Kydex and Rainwalker for leather! Just got a Cupidvore sheath from azwelke and it is solid.

Okuden makes nice Kydex too.

Rainwalker wins in customer service, design, and attention to detail. He's got a couple of custom carry IWB sheaths headed my way...cannot wait to post them and showcase the work.

I started out all kydex...and have pretty much shifted all leather (except for the molle compatible B11 setup).

Good luck!

+1, all the makers listed are great. I've had experience with most of them and they are all excellent quality.

I have had two kydex sheaths from Okuden and the are top notch!!
He currently has my CG BATac that he is doing a sheath for and he is sending a Crash Axe and Fat Warden sheath with it.
His prices are fair and he has great communication.
I would recommend him.
All the other makers are great to but I don't have personal experiences with them.
I do have a CupidVore and Vore LE sheath coming from AL Welke and I picked up a Rainwalker Mutt sheath from the XC so the experience is coming.
You can't go wrong with any of the makers listed.

Be careful, you might find your scrapizashi sticking through your mailbox.
