I took the Dog Father.(Scrap Yard Knife Company)
The B11.(Busse Knife Company)
And the custom by atakach.(Takach Forge)
It was on & off,a rainy,drizzly day...
but I didn't care,I had work to do. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
Plus I was finally in my favorite neck of the woods, playing with my toys. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
This is the spur road off the forest service road that takes me to paradise.(IMO) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
You can see the ruts from the snowmelt runoff.
The ground is slippery slimey clay when it's wet, so it's best to use 4wd to get up to camp in the spring. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />

The victim.A poor pine that came down during the winter.
As you can see,it's just starting to green up out there after all the late snow we had in the mountains this winter.

I had to do it again,I couldn't believe the B11 did so poorly, maybe I counted wrong.
For round 2 I took the gloves off.(literaly)
DF,136 chops.
B11,150 chops.
Takach,79 chops.
Go figure.
No gloves,thicker section of the log,tired Myke,raining/sprinkling & the rapture didn't happen,
who knows why I got the results I did.
It doesn't matter anyhoo,I had fun!!!
I'll show off the fatwood I scored & a few other pics over in the outdoor side in a bit.
WOOHOO Spring is here!
I forgot to add my hawk.(Poor hawk.)

The handle isn't made for chopping, just throwing.
(which I didn't do. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />)It tapers down drasticly & is too straight for comfortable chopping.
My hand kept sliding down to the narrow end & it was just too skinny for comfortable chopping.
I'll try a couple of different wraps for a better grip while chopping.
