after doing some math, it looks like the scrapivore part of my order has not dinged, but the War Dog part has.

That sounds good then. They don't charge unless they are getting real close to shipping the knives out <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />.

Forgive me for being new and asking a bit of a dumb question but how exactly do we know when the War Dog is sold out? Will the order section not allow you to put it in your cart? or do you just wait and if your card doesn't get dinged your S.O.L

Pretty sure they stop taking orders when they run out. Never heard of anyone getting an order confirmation and no blade.

My guess is to honor the warranty there is always the ability to make a few more than they sell.

My credit card shows a pending charge for the amount of the WD.

I am somewhat new to knives, and have never owned a bussekin. I ordered the war dog somewhat blindly, as I didn't want to miss out on the opportunity to obtain my first piece of infi.

After reading through some of the posts on the new knife, I saw the post that stated the knife was 1" from spine to edge. Based on my experience with the knives that I own, 1" is very short. My knives (including folders,) range from 1 3/8" to 1 3/4" at their thickest.

I suppose my question to the more seasoned knife users is what a thinner blade like this will be useful for? What applications do you intend on using your WD for?

It seems to me like it is a mix between a stealthy killer and a bushcraft knife.

It's seems to be alot like a basic 5, which is an awesome knife( kind of a small handle on the b5) it seems to be a general use/ hiking knife that will take any abuse/ use you can throw at it

I am going to use my WD for an all purpose woods knife. My CC got dinged too which is fine, as that means its going to ship soon. I am glad to know its on the way as I can't wait!

Will we be getting a shipping notice with a tracking number? Thanks!

This is the reason why I haven't jumped on this knife, the blade shape and handles look great, but in my opinion the dimensions are off. The blade is too thick for its width (too short). I think in many applications the spine would hit the edge before the cut is complete. But I know this knife wasn't designed for the kitchen or bush, it was designed as an all around beater! I'd jump on this so quick if it was 1-2 years ago, but I have enough indestructible SY knives, and I'm more into thinner knives these days. But dogs are loyal and I'm still a SY guy at heart, so I'll wait patiently for thinner knife, hopefully with SS4 style blade and new handles. If it came in 154CM, it'd be my official kitchen/bush/bbq/beater knife!

I think this knife will serve best as a combat knife, hence the name. Soldiers and Marines are pretty hard on their knives in the field and a knife like the War Dog would be right up their alley.
